A leading savings and loans company in Ghana is seeking to appoint a Board Member – Risk & Credit to strengthen governance and provide oversight in line with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
The Ideal Candidate
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in risk and credit management, preferably in financial services
- Relevant professional certifications (CRM, FRM) are desirable
- Strong knowledge of credit risk, portfolio management, and credit policy development
- Proven ability to advise on complex credit matters to support Board decisions
- Prior Board-level experience is an advantage
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance on developing and implementing risk and credit management policies
- Oversee the institution’s credit risk exposures
- Offer expert advice on credit risk, operational risk, and regulatory compliance matters
- Serve as a member of the Risk and Credit Committee
- Review and challenge management’s reports on risk exposures, stress testing, capital adequacy, and contingency planning
